Food for thoughts: Can’t it be that the simple fact that these minorities are so noticeable is already a bad sign? In an ideal society where everyone is equal, would you even notice? I’m not saying that you wouldn’t SEE a black man or a gay woman as part of a narrative, but referring to the bump it causes in your fluidity while watching a movie. Why do you see that a gay couple is adding a plus/extra/exaggeration just because they are both black? What if they were both white? Would you feel similarly?
